A new ophthalmic lens material that helps protect eyes from not only ultraviolet (10-400nm) light rays, but also high energy blue light (400nm-420nm wavelength). It is widely known that UV light can cause damage to the cells of our body, including those on the surface and within our eyes. High energy blue light may also be associated with visual fatigue associated with extending viewing of digital screens. BluSelect lenses block high energy blue light, reduces eye fatigue and can help with sleeping at night.
Sources of blue light include the sun, digital screens (TVs, computers, laptops, smart phones and tablets), electronic devices, and fluorescent and LED lighting.
Our Deluxe AR with UV has all the benefits of our premium AR with better oleophobic, hydrophobic and UV protection lens features. The oleophobic layer helps make your lenses easy to care for and clean by allowing you to easily wipe away oily smudges and grime. Hydrophobic layer is a super-slick top coat that seals the lens and provides quality water-repellent performance. Deluxe AR uses an advanced proprietary AR formula with more microscopic layers using finer minerals to significantly reduce reflections over a board band of wavelengths.
In addition, the lens provides UV protection with 5x more protection from back surface UV reflections. On the front side, this lens allows visible light to pass through the lens as intended, but the coating and lens material absorb most of the UV rays. The advanced anti-reflective coating also helps reflect UV rays. On the back side, UV reflections are reduced by more than 5x when compared to our premium AR (i.e. Kodak Clean&CleAR Lens Coating)
