Optometry (eye-health services)
OHIP covers the cost of one major eye exam (for vision and general eye health) every 12 months, plus any minor assessments you need, but only if you are:
OHIP may also cover a major eye exam if it has been requested for a specific reasonby your doctor (they will need to give you a referral form).
You may be eligible for additional eye care if you are on the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) or Ontario Works.
Our goal is to promote good eye health and enable you to see the colours of life by having the clearest vision possible with the best lens technology. We accept several types of vision insurance, cash, and most credit cards. We inform our patients about treatment, additional testing, product and service costs at the beginning or during your visit at our clinic. If you require a breakdown of costs, please let us know.
For patients who have insurance with the companies listed below, we can help with predetermination, directly bill or claim your insurance. However some plans may or may not allow us to do direct billing. If you provide us with your insurance information, we can look into your coverage, eligibility and direct billing capability between 10 am to 5 pm. As some insurance providers require authorization to release insurance information, we advise you to contact your insurance to get all important details of your plan and let us know about this information during your visit.
