THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

On September 1st, 2021 Ontario Optometrists entered a Job Action to fight for sustainable eye and vision care for all the citizens of Ontario. It is with great thanks to you, our supportive patients, to inform you that Job Action has been put on pause starting November 23, 2021.

As healthcare providers, not one of us wanted to withdraw service. Prior to withdrawal, we believed that diplomacy should prevail because of the valuable service we provide to the citizens of Ontario. However, after 32 years of the government ignoring our pleas for reform, we were simply left with no choice.

Due to the advocacy of our patients, for the first time in decades, Optometrists in Ontario are now in a position to finally enter good-faith negotiations with the Ontario government, where both parties will work towards an outcome that best serves the eye care needs of Ontarians.

Thank you for your commitment to standing up for Ontario Optometry and the wellbeing of all Ontarians.
