Ajax Optometrists Making A Difference
After opening in Ajax, the Kodak Lens Vision Centre was eager to become a part of the community. After hearing several great ideas from their patients, the optometrists and staff have decided to get involved with the local community.
Dr. Cassandra Chung, became an optometrist to be able to help people. As a strong and independent woman she wants to help other women gain independence and strength through their experiences. That’s why Dr. Chung has reached out to women in need and supports the local women’s shelter.
Great vision is essential for those who work in emergency services, and that’s why the team at Kodak Lens Vision Centre has reached out to the local fire departments and shown them their support.
Kodak Lens Vision Centre is part of the Eye See…Eye Learn® program, which provides comprehensive eye exams by local optometrists to junior kindergarten students in participating school regions. The eye exams are covered by OHIP when you show your child’s health card. This means that there is no out of pocket cost for the eye exam. If the child requires glasses, they will receive a free pair from Nikon Lenswear, OGI and Kodak Lens Vision Centre. The value of the glasses is estimated at over $250!
The Eye See…Eye Learn program was developed to raise awareness among parents of the importance of having their children’s eyes checked upon starting school. Each year, thousands of children start school without ever having an eye exam.
The Kodak Lens Vision Centre is a member of the Ajax Pickering Board of Trade and was a bronze sponsor for Run Ajax. The staff are currently working on vision programs for local businesses who do not have any vision care benefits. KODAK Lens Vision Centre specializes in KODAK Lenses, a unique combination of over 100 years of KODAK imaging expertise and the most advanced ophthalmic digital technology.
